No. A pregnancy test is looking for the hormone Human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) in the blood and/or urine.

This hormone is not contained in contraceptive pills, and the ones that are do not cause falso negative or false positive results.

HOWEVER there are other medications that do contain hCG that could possibly give a false positives in pregnancy tests - if you are taking fertility drugs for example (although if you are on the pill this would be absolutely unnecessary). If you are taking any other prescription drugs then check with your doctor.

No. The pill contains oestrogen and progesterone. These are totally different hormones to the hormone that home pregnancy tests are testing for.
You only get the pregnancy hormone in your body if you are pregnant.

No.

Contraceptive pills contain estrogen and / or progesterone.

Pregnancy tests only detect the presence of HCG, which is not affected by the others.

absolutely not. I have been pregnant twice while on the pill, and both showed posative. If you feel you are pregnant and you test comes back negative you could have a low level of hcg. meaning it could be early or you could have a tubular pregnancy.
