It will be quite hard to get a job without any qulifications at all, especially in fashion becuase it is a very competitive industry but this does not mean that you can't do the job or achieve just like people who do have qualifications. If you have the ambition for a career and want to chase your dreams and be in fashion then you will have to start by getting some qualifications. You can go to college and get a few GCSE's and do a fashion related course, it really is easy. Also try to show your interest by volunteering and helping out where you can. Then start applying for ANY job that is fashion related, even if it is not exactly what you want to do because at least you will have your foot in the door and you can prove yourself and move to what you want to do within that company or in another. You won't be seen as a failure if you work hard to be what you want to be.. people will see your drive and will appreciate that.

If you are very mature and bright why do you not have any qualifications. People will judge your intelligence or lack of it by what qualifications you have. Having said that people like Richard Branson and Alan Sugar who are eminently successful businessmen have very few if any qualifications. You can be a success if you apply yourself to whatever you want to do. The world of fashion is not one where academic qualifications matter too much but it would do no harm to enrol in a course at a local college even on a part time basis.
PS I left school without much in the way of qualifications on paper as I hated school and was not really interested in most of the subjects. That was nearly forty years ago. I went back to college a few years ago and ended up with a Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honours. It's never too late to learn. Good luck!!!

Actually young Jedi there are several things that you can do.
1st of course is to go to school aND get your qualifications. And if you are as bright as you think you are(of which I'm sure you are) it shouldn't take but a short time for you to finish.
2nd, can you type? answer a phone with a pleasant voice? say "Hello" with a smile?? Apply for a position as a receptionist to get your foot in the door and then show them that you have the talent for bigger and better things. Sometimes this is a start to something good and the company will pay you to get your qual's.
3rd, there are several different "colleges" i.e. Remington, ITT,IADC,.that could be a start to getting your quals with a little bit of expense up front but a whole lot at the end. But they also offer job placement, career services/counseling, and GRANTS/Loans.
Personally, I went to a community college, got my degree, and now am in the position I wanted and didn't have to pay an arm and a leg to get there.
Good luck and hope this helps. :-)
Oh, and by the way, Only YOU see yourself as a failure. Be positive, think positive. Follow these 10 steps!!
1.See yourself FIRST as a success.
2.Spend time with positive people.
3.Eat Healthy.
4.Get plenty of rest and sleep.
5. Get out and exercise.
6. Break large tasks down into smaller tasks.
7. Practice positive self-talk.
8. Do something cheerful for someone else.
9. REWARD SUCCESSES.
10. LEARN SOMETHING NEW EVERYDAY.
Good luck.

I suggest that you sign up for a course at your local college in order for you to gain your GCSE'S or as is the case where I live some local schools offer night classes in order for you to be able to do this.
But remember we are only failures if we choose to be, success is in your own hands not others. You can't blame other people for your own failures. If you truly want to succeed then you will.
I have a friend that can't read or write and he is a millionaire, he succeeded because he believed in himself and didn't give up and kept on trying in life.
The thing is to keep telling yourself is that you can and will succeed and that no matter what people say you `ARE NOT A FAILURE AND NEVER WILL BE`.
I suggest you carry out this simple trick each day, every day. The minute you wake up in the morning go and look at yourself in a mirror and repeat several times out loud, I am not a failure and I will succeed no matter what.
And when your on the bus or walking somewhere every now and again say these things to yourself and keep repeating it. I can tell you that it won't be long before you achieve your dreams my friend. You can always contact me via email at www.ola.74@hotmail.co.uk if you need help or support (DON'T WORRY IT'S FREE, I'VE BEEN THERE DONE IT AND GOT THE TEE-SHIRT TO PROVE IT)
All the best,

Look for a vocational course maybe. Try Learn Direct for advice (www.learnddirect.co.uk) and Google something like "fashion courses" to see what's in your locality.
.
Might also be worth getting those GCSEs (especially Maths and English). Completing qualifications shows a future employer that you can apply yourself to the discipline and time management requirements of education. Boring but true.
All the best and DO NOT ever think of yourself as a failure. You're very young and starting on your path, nothing wrong with a few teething troubles as you work out where you want to go!

You're bound to feel like this, and I was in the same position as you until I was 20. I went back to college, ended up at Uni and travel all over the world with a multi-national oil company now. You gotta take the bull by the horns and go for it in life - You only get one shot! Good Luck :)

We are moving towards a qualification driven society. People who complain that jobs are being out-sourced to India etc forget that the people who get those very modestly paid jobs are often graduates!
You need to gain qualifications - there are many routes now, including vocational and on-the-job training. Check out your local FE college.
