When we yawn, it signals the body has a lack of oxygen, it needed to rest and replenish the oxygen intake the body is rapidly exhausting. Yawning contracts facial muscle and squeeze them together, this contract the tear duct greatly and therefore squeezes the water out of our eyes and they flow through the tear duct, down out onto our face. ^__^

To add more to these answers studies have also been shown that we yawn to cool our brains as well. This could also be linked to something else in a yawn but more studies would have to be done. So yawning helps cool our brain so we can maintain homeostasis.

Part of your tear ducting goes into your nasal cavity, which is why your nose can run when you cry. When you yawn, all the muscles in your face tighten up, squeezing these "rear" ducts, and pushing out tears. Totally normal.
