Any advice on renting a house over Christmas this year in the Brisbane area. Actually I need to be in striking distance of Jimbooma (wherever that may be!). Looking for a house with min 3 beds and a pool suitable for children. Advice particularly welcome from Australians - I figure they'll know what they're talking about!

you will have a hard time getting a house for a short time stay as most rent out by a longer period & dont come furnished
i suggest you put your request of holiday-house-brisbane into a search engin then narrow it down till you find something near there

You need to use realestate.com.au or domain.com. au. They have holiday listings which can be found by the area they are in. Jimboomba is on the edge of Brisbane so has some big properties out there. It is semirural. Use multimap.com to find it on a map. Try to get a house with an airconditioner as it is hot at Xmastime.
Good luck! The other thing I would consider would be houseswapping.

Jimboomba is southwest of Brisbane on the Mt Lindsay Highway. Go to http://www.whereis.com.au Type in Jimboomba, select Queensland and click "get map. Use the zoom to see where Jimboomba is in relation to nearby suburbs and Brisbane itself.

You should be looking for holiday houses as ordinary houses usually have a six month lease requirement. Look at the Courier Mail, the Brisbane newspaper, on Saturdays. It is online. The classified ads should tell you the sort of thing available.

Hi there, I may not be Australian, BUT ..... I can recommend a site that is fabulous and gives you really sound advise and is easy to use for all sorts of things - you specify the accommodation and it will do the rest - can´t hurt to give it a go!
