I was just wondering, because my hubby has brown eyes and I have blue. I don't care what their eye color are because I know he will be beautiful all the same. But I was just wondering whether a brown eye, blue eye couple can have a green eyed baby if the grandmother to the unborn has green eyes. In other words the my mother.

I am 16 weeks and 5 days pregnant and do not remember the first thing of hereditary or dominant and recessive genes for that matter. Thanks in advance to those who can answer.

Sorry about the question. I meant can a partner with brown eyes and a partner with blue eyes, who has a parent of the blue eyed spouse, have a green eye baby.

If both you and your husband pass on the recessive green-eyed gene, then yes you can have a green eyed baby. If your husband passes on the dominant brown eyed gene, you will have a brown eyed baby.

Anything is possible. My mother has brown eyes, my father has green and I got blue. I believe brown is the dominant color so your child will probably have brown eyes, but you never know.Congrats on your new baby, being a Mom is awesome!

It is possible for the baby to have green eyes, however, he will more likely have brown eyes. Darker colors are supposed to be dominant. However, my eyes are dark green and my ex-husband has blue eyes, and all three of our kids have blue eyes! You never know what's going to filter out of the gene pool. Good luck!

It's in your genes, so I believe you could. I have blue eyes and my husband has brown...my son's eyes are predominantly blue, but have some additional colors that make them look hazel from time to time.....so I think it's possible for your child to have green eyes...but as you know...time will tell.

Yes, it's possible. My dad has brown eyes and my mom has blue. I have green eyes. They are light, though, not the vivid green most people think of, and sometimes they look kind of blueish or grayish depending on what I'm wearing. When I get really upset & my face gets red, they look bright green. :)
Oh, and my daughter has the same color as me. My husband has dark blue eyes. Who knows what our new baby will have, though. He hasn't made his appearance yet...hopefully soon!
11 days and counting! :)
Good luck with yours!

Yes, I'm pretty sure. My mom has brown eyes and my dad has blue eyes and I have green eyes. Now, my eyes used to be blue, but since I've had a child, they turned green.
