You can but it's not advisable as a 14 year old is still a child and should be enjoying childhood rather than changing nappies and feeding baby. Bringing up a child is real hard work and don't believe anyone who tells you anything different!

yes you can have a child at age 14, if you know were babies come from. I am 38 and my children are 9 and 5. I love my children and am a good mother, but even at my age I sometimes wonder if I am doing it right. Animals can reproduce, so you dont have to be a rocket scientist to have a child. But can you be the parent a child would deserve at age 14?

Hi! I would just like to say that in answer to your question, you can have a child at any age so long as you have started your periods and are ovulating. I think one of the youngest girls in Britain to become a mum is 11 years. Would i recomend this? NO!! Firstly ask yourself why you want a child so young? Are you in a stable relationship? or are you looking to fill a void in your life? Many young girls who dont feel loved at home think having a baby will give them that unconditional love.
I had my son at the age of 16 yrs and believe you me it was difficult! I planned to have my son and was engaged to be married, at 6 months pregnant my partner walked out on me and has since denied all knowledge of me or my son. That was almost 19 years ago. I went into several other relationships thinking they were the one and had 5 more children. I always felt TRAPPED!!! i'm now 35 and expecting my 8th child in 11 wks time and its only now that i've felt ready and settled.
Think really hard about what you want out of life, and speak to your mum or an advisor at your local family planning centre they will offer you proffesional help and advice. Good luck for the future in whatever you choose.

Can you-yes. Should you-no. If you are a female an dyou get your menstrual cycle than you can get pregnant. Let me just say though, that parenthood is the hardest and most expensive thing in the world and until you are mature and stable, you should not have a baby. I dont think that a 14 year old could handle it properly. Be safe. If you are having sex use protection.

Physically, you can.
Socially, financially, legally and morally, you shouldn't.
*********
A girl can get pregnant through unprotected sex as soon as she starts to ovulate and some girls start ovulating as young as 9 or 10. And as the only sign of a girl having ovulated (ie: her having periods) shows after the fact, a girl can get pregnant even before her first period shows if she has unprotected sex during her first cycle (when she ovulates for the first time, which happens before the bleeding of her first period shows).
Having a baby is not like caring for a pet or a doll. It requires full attention, all of the time. Feeding, changing, washing, taking care that his/her needs for emotional, physical, psychological and intellectual development are met all take a lot of effort and attention. A child at 14 is not equipped to provide this level of care - come to think of it, some older "adults" aren't capable of this either, but that's a different question.
Then there's the financial cost of bringing up a child, and the conflicting interests of that 14 year old (who is essentially a child herself) to develop her own emotional, psychological and intellectual being. Yes, her parents/family can help out, but that in itself is highly irresponsible as it is the parent of the baby that should be the ultimate bearer of responsibility for the baby, not the grandparents.
Furthermore, it is illegal for a child to have sexual contact below the age of consent (which is currently set at 16). Sexual intercourse with a minor, whether or not with consent of that minor constitutes statutory rape and carries criminal charges.

a 14 year old is physically able to have a child, but wait until you are married. Children should not be having children. Since your avatar shows you to be a guy- do you think you got your girlfriend pregnant?

my daughter gave birth last thursday and she is only 14 she was in labour for 52 hours and we lost count how many stitches she had midwife said it was like a baby giving birth to a baby thats why she had such a hard time i dont agree with her having a baby so young it took me weeks to come around to the idea but she is still my daughter and a baby it was her 1st time of having sex the condom split she went to an adult and they said you cant get pregnant 1st time so at 14 she listerned, so her advice would be if you having sex at 14 be careful as we all know that you can get pregnant the 1st time she is very lucky that the father of her baby is there to support her and he is only 14 aswell and her family are there too but all that said she is a fanastic mum and sum teen mums dont get credit like they should do, check out my space the pics are on there of her and the baby xx

as long as you have your period you can. at 14 you shouldnt even be asking that. i am now 21 got pregnant at 19 my son is 71/2months and even though i love him to death, i miss my freedom and even though i dont regret anything if i could have waited longer i would. at 16 i find alot of girls want kids. i was tempted to sleep with a guy i knew for 3 years so i could have a child so they would love me and id have someone. at least tat was my excuse then. you know wat kids all hit an age where the hate therir parents and will want to beon thereown. give it a couple more years i can guaranteeyou in thenet couple of years you will change your mind. i did and again at 19 when i was with my fiance for 4 years, and i really wanted one, its alot on your body. i mean the vomiting, everything. i just wanted to never get out of bed with my pregnsancy. and labour is not fun. its the most painful experiance you will ever go through. wait till you meet mr. right. you dont want to be a single mom. at your age, thats all youll be and you will need the suport of the other partner. its hard when your baby may wake up every hour on the hour. try it set your alarm every hour on the hour and stay up for a half an hour trying to stay awake. try it for 2 days youll see. then expenses like diapers baby power baby wipes, toys clothes, formula. then your baby has to get shots. and its not all fun and games specially when your baby gets mad crys cause you try getting him to sleep but your not doing something or a bottle runs out. like i said ilove my son but its hard hard work. im glad i graduated from high schoool b4 i had my son. REALLY THINK ABOUT IT
