We should perform a ritual to welcome the baby, but my problem is that me and my patrner we both don't believe in it, I just wanna know if its wrong for me to bring up my baby in a normal enviroment with no rutual or traditional ceremonies perfomed on his behalf or should i just follow up on what my elders used to do . and im also curious as to how do other nations welcome a new born baby into the family,

Every community and culture has its rituals to welcome a newborn. If you follow it or not would depend on your inclination. If you want to skip it then go ahead. To carry out rituals just to please others is not really worth it.

Your conflict is between what you say "normal environment" and "tradition". You may note that "normal" may mean different things to different people. If traditional rituals are not objectionable in themselves, you may opt for tradition. Breaking away from tradition should not be "normal".

Each religion/culture has its own such rituals with many variants. You can find them yourself if you look around. The celebration of birthdays is a "modern" practice everywhere, but pathetically - celebrating birth itself may not look modern. Wish your child a happy pious life in the way of the Almighty.
Please write us when you perform traditional ritual for your child. Amen.

Does the ritual involve writing out the child support papers in case "Baby Daddy" Tyrone ups and leaves?
