First it is cause when the sun energy is concentrated over a section of the planet causing the surface to heat up,therefore creating and area of low pressure that is unstable, thus thunder storms and drenching rain is highly possible.this area of course,is located close to the equator.but during the northern hemispheres summer it will fluctuate more to the north.
