Listening to everyone can be overwhelming I know. My daughter is 6 months old. She started juice and she has water on occasion. She started cereals and fruit at 4 months because she was ready. Follow your gut instincts as well.

You can give your baby water as long as it does not replace a formula or a breastmilk bottle/feeding. I wouldn't go more than 4oz. My 8 month old loves it! I especially pack a water bottle when we have to be out to do some errands. Perfect for distracting her too when she gets a little fussy while out! I've done it with both my girls and my oldest is now 3 and she prefers water over juice! Which is better for them anyways. Best of luck!

Until baby is off formula they do not need water. Now if you want to give the baby some it wont hurt them. Just make sure they arent filling up on water and not drinking enough formula.

It is always a personal choice.
But if you live in a Hot climate where you think that your baby is dehydrated then give the baby water/diluted juice in a sippy cup.
Your formula should give baby the desired amounts of water they need. Remember babies bodies are not like ours as adults. We drink other things to cause dehydration. Most babies do not need extra water. And try not to put it in a bottle, as your baby now is learning how to hold a sippy cup, it will both give him/her the extra fluids and learn a new skill.

Usually I would stick with formula until child is eating a reasonable amount of solid food BUT here the climate is hot, and extra water on a hot day is recommended even for tinies.

A little bit of water is good for anyone! Don't give them tap water though. You'd probably want to boil water and cool it before giving it to a baby. A few drops of corn syrup makes it tasty for the ones that don't like water. A few ounces sometimes is good for them.

No its not necessary. At 7 months formula is sufficient. They do not need water, as they are getting it in their formula anyways.

no you can start water . I believe you can start water and juices at 6 months old . You can call your local WIC and ask or your babies doctor for suree to make sur . I know you cannot start the Gerber yogurt drinks or and citrus juices though until they are 1 years of age .

babies need water...not only because it's a basic human necessity...but also it helps to wash away the harmful particles the milk leaves behind the oral cavity. always let your baby drink water after feeding him/her with milk(all kinds of food for the matter)...
formula is needed and is sufficient for the baby until 6months of age only...but water can be introduced early.
advice: brush ur baby's teeth...even if there are no teeth yet...still brush the baby's gingiva(gums). you can buy "special" toothbrushes for babies. please take care of your baby's oral hygiene. even though baby's teeth are still temporary, and will soon be replaced....still, it's important to take good care of 'em because, baby teeth are for the preparation of the incoming permanent teeth. if they are removed too early or too late...there will be some minimal misalignment...which could later affect the child's facial esthetics. so take good care of your child's teeth. Give them water after every feeding(even candies---that's when the child grows up already). But NO TO SUGARS! God Bless!
