Actually the only time the governments, no matter what type, pay attention to the population is when the have a bloody revolution on their hands. European liberties exist because of your tendencies to take Kings, Queens, Tsars and Emperors out every so often and behead or hang them. The modern problem is that the real rulers are hidden behind figurehead puppets like Bush or Blair.
It would be a far better protest for everybody to take their money out of the banks than to block traffic.

often times. The polltax riots have been protests and have been in charge for removing Thatcher, yet via the comparable token the mass protests over the Iraq conflict achieved not something in combating it, yet did upload to the death of the Labour occasion. Political events do pay attention while there are mass demonstrations, extraordinarily if it quite is a few thing it quite is probably to electrify their occasion on the subsequent election. you are able to wager that the pupil protests are being taken very heavily via many Libdem MP's who worry not be elected on the subsequent election. while it is extra to the inevitable strikes and protests next twelve months, then purely a fool could overlook approximately it.

More people voted for the Tories at the last election yet Labour won. Most politications vote what they're told to vote for by the party whip. A lot of things are run by unelected quangos. The House of Lords is picked by people with a vested interest.
The public don't really get a say in anything.

We have been told, day in and day out, that democracy is the best form of Government any nation can have. But we see failure of the system world over. UK is not special. But yet, would we vote for dictatorship, if we are given the choice? Probably not, by the majority. The Government in power is ineffective in tackling the problems of its people, as the people in government are shortsighted and cannot see beyond their nose. They fail to appreciate the problems on the street as they normally fly and get their road cleared of ordinary people, when they take the street, in the name of security. They are afraid of the people, though are expected to lead and protect the people. When they are insulated, how can we expect them to understand the needs of the general public?

Tony Bliar only listens to Tony Bair and Cherie. He's been under Bush's influence for so long he thinks he's president of the UK. He's broken almost every election pledge since coming into power whilst successfully feathering his own nest.

theres an old saying "treat people as you like to be treated" thats what government is there to do, to serve us and treat us how we
have employed them to treat us. but they are not doing it, so here is a new saying "treat politicians how they like to treat you" and they like to ingnore you, so the people must ignore the polititions
in order to teach them the error of their ways.
