I haven't read the article, but after seeing what he said to a group of conservative Christians yesterday, he lost any chance at my vote. It appears his 2004 conversion to bush toady was real.

John McCain is a war hero.........but that was a long time ago.Since then, I do not have much respect for him. He, like Hillary, will do or say anything to get elected.A good leader will do whats right,no matter what the polls say. McCain "aligning himself with the religious right" is as phony as Hillary aligning with the religious left (if there is such a thing)

No, I do not. In running for President in 2000, McCain called the fundamentalist wing of the party intolerant, and, he is trying to make amends for the 2008 presidential race. He is doing what a politician should be doing.

McCain is common sense governing, and, as a blue dog democrat, McCain is worthy of consideration to those who wish for a seasoned, respected leader who is NOT a neoconservative limbaugh rag tag man.

I don't know if he's selling his soul, but he's sure as heck GIVING away any chance to be elected if he aligns himself with the religious right.

Perhaps he is saving it. Disagreeing with the Christian teachings is an interesting choice. If they are wrong, no problem. If they are right, however, the person who rejects them risks an eternity in Hell, or oblivion.
