A good route is by road; you get good bus service available; you can also charter a bus. The route you will take is Belgaum, Hubli, Davangare, Tumkur, Bangalore.

Mostly on the following NHs - 204, NH 4 and then NH 7.

The towns are mentioned to help you decide how you want to break journey on the way for coffee/tiffin/lunch and bio-breaks etc as you have older people also travelling with you.

Route # 1. (by train) Ratnagiri to MANGLORE and then an onward journey to Banglore.

Route # 2. (by bus) Ratnagiri to kOLHAPUR and then Via Banglore high way.

Request you to check the other trains going via Goa on the konkan Railway route towards Nagercoil too... I think that would be easier for Banglore passengers.

Let me know if u need more help.

Happy journey...
