Why has my ps2 stopped playing certain games that play in my sisters game system?

Question

I was playing scarface in it a few weeks ago and today when i put it in it will not play it now it says disc could not be read.

THis is the slim model that i have.

THis game has no scratches at all on it!! But the first person that answered my question i put it in the fridge then put in the game system and now it is playing and i am gonna choose u as best answer when it lets me it told me to wait 4 hrs before i get to choose a best answer!!

try turning the ps2 off from the back of it .Then check if it works. If that dont work u could try checking the disc fr scratches. OR

u can put the disc in the fridge for just 10 seconds. Wipe off the moisture useing a soft cloth (NEVER USE TISSUE PAPER). quickly put it in the ps2 and see if it works .

IF ALL THAT DOSENT WORK- give ur PS2 to a shop which sells em, give it to them for servicing. They just clean up the insides of it and give it back to u in a day. And it dosent even cost too much

if to procure it 3 years in the past and it became into refubished, which ability that's the older version of the PS2. They wont play purple subsidized video games. the hot PS2 will play the nicely-known and the purple subsidized. I dont know in case you are able to return the video games, yet get the manufacturers telephone type and that they'll replace the interest with one which will play.

Ive heard that some games can only be played in the original version, just like the PS1

OR

Some PS2 Consoles cant play 'fake' games (NO offense) but try and get the game checked maybe its just scratched (ALOT)

the same thing happens with my PS2. What happens is that if you have owned your PS2 for a while the scanner inside the PS2 gets all messed up. Just carefully open it up and clean the scanner.

check for scratches if you have a cd with what looks like you tied it to a string and drop it down a highway (super scratched up) then you might wana get it cleaned and smoothed lol
