I beg to differ with you my friend.
India will surely become a super power by 2020.
If one closely watches the human evolution and the trend that is now prevailing among all the nations in the world, the characteristics of a super power could be seen in India. Whether brain drain is there or not, India will not only emerge a super power, it will not be a wonder if the rest of the world is lead by India in many matters.
You will be a lucky one to witness that by 2020.

INDIA WII NOT BECOME A SUPER POWER BY 2020 EVEN IF BRAIN DRAIN IS CURTAILED.
INDIANS ARE CAPABLE. I ACCEPT IT. LET US AIM TO REMOVE POVERTY,
LET US PROVIDE PROTECTED DRINKING WATER TO THE POPULATION.
LET US PROVIDE HEALTH CARE TO ALL.
LET US ELEVATE THE 40% OF OUR POOR PEOPLE ABOVE THE BPL.
INDIANS ARE CAPABLE. I ACCEPT IT. LET US AIM TO REMOVE POVERTY,
BUT, WHY IT IS NOT REFLECTING IN THE NUMBER OF NOBEL PRIZE OR GOLD MEDALS PROPORTIONATE TO THE POPULATION ?
WHY OUR PATRIOTIC CAPTAINS OF INDUSTRY,EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS ETC ARE NOT TAKING EFFORTS IN CONSOLIDATING THE HIGHEST TALENTS OF THIS COUNTRY UNDER ONE ROOF AND PROVIDE THE MUCH NEEDED INTELLECTUAL GROWTH POTENTIAL ACTIVATED TO TAKE OUR NATION FORWARD?
WHY NOT THEY DO THE SAME TO LIFT THE PEOPLE BELOW THE BPL?
NEITHER THEY NOR THE GOVERNMENT HAVE A CONCERN FOR OUR PEOPLE?
WE TALK MORE AND ACT LESS.THAT IS THE BIGGEST MALADY OF INDIA.
HOW JAPAN,KOREA AND CHINA WITH PEOPLE OF IQ LOWER THAN THE PEOPLE OF INDIA , MAKE SO MUCH PROGRESS COMPARED TO INDIA IN ENGINEERING AND MANUFACTURING SECTORS?
WHAT IS THAT THE INDIAN DIASPORA ( INDIANS LIVING ABROAD DRAINING THE NATIONAL ECONOMY CAUSING BRAIN DRAIN )?
SIMPLE MANTRA TO SUCCEED IS TO WORK HARD FROM ORDINARY WORKERS TO POLITICIANS.
YES. INDIA WILL BECOME ASUPER POWER ,MAY BE AFTER 50 YEARS BUT WHEN IT WILLBECOME FREE OF HUNGER,DISEASE ,SHORTAGES ETC?
LRT US WORK,WORK TOGETHER.THAT IS THE ONLY WAY.

India will not become superpower anytime soon. I agree with you totally. But it needs a lot of work to end poverty by educating the children of the future. It needs to develop more tolerance and I don't agree with what someone said here, it is not that acceptant of other beliefs. I'm sorry to say. But we can work on this.

india is not going to be the superpower if this brain drain continues. we are incurring expenditure for the development of knowledge and subsidy is being given in the education sector even in the higher education. if all IIT student will go to abroad after completing their education then no research work will take place and india has to borrow knowledge instead of giving knowledge to the world.

you're absolutely right buddy... and i do support your views.... india has all that takes to become a super power..... we could be a super power without even acting like one... i mean superpowers like america would make others feel as if they are the one... my intuition of india is based on its ability of tolerance to other countries, acceptance of others beliefs, spirituality and directing the world towards a positive side of life..... non-indians have started feeling this side of india... however, on the other hands, indians have to believe in their own ideology and culture.... blindly imitating other cultures' does not make sense.... we have to believe that our culture is the best and indeed, it is.... we have lotz of brainy people who can work for india rather than working in other countries for the sake of money.... to be really frank, i m 24 and i'd luv to see india becoming a superpower in my lifetime....

Yes,I agree with you. There are many factors we can discuss. Indian cannot be developed in the first place as one thing which is- pure drinking water the water tap should be provided to everyone but that will never happen.
