All planets and their satellites like our moon, are in space. There is no concept of up and down when you consider space in its entirety. So it may not be right to say that the moon looks down upon us. It could very well be that we are looking down upon the moon, depending on the points of reference, as everything is relative.
Even assuming that the moon looks down upon us, how can one conclude that this is a pitiful planet? What are the norms you have adopted for this?

I guess it depends on how you look at it. Are we looking down at the moon or is it looking down on us? I guess it depends on which phase it is in? The moon and the planet have been that was long before man came around so I guess it really does not matter what we think about them.

Could it be that the moon is really below us and looks up
or watching over us like an angel and well for something with such craters how can it look down on us as pit iful

The moon isn't always looking down us sometimes it's looking across at us depending where you are and the time
