I need to plan a ghost story for my gcse english. anyone got any ideas what the plot of the ghost story should be about. how should it start and end. what kind of characters should i put in and what are they called and why? .=)

a ghost story need not be scary at all...!!!
what if the is in need of some helpand so he contacts a human to help him out. create some dangerouse problem for the ghost. the human agrees ang here begins there struggle. tyhe story would reflect freindship between a ghost and a person. the ghost can even lend some of his magical powers to the human.and it be a nice idea to end the story as a tragedy, like the human did helped him out but died in doing that.... sort of.. what do u think...???
I would surely add few more ideas if i get one, by then put ur thinking caps on and i am sure ur story will rock..!!!

I have an idea for you:
a boy-grandfather tells him about his childhood in which he tells the boy about his friend with which he used to play who disappaers suddnely-next day the boy goes to play-finds a new friend -tells his grandfather about the new friend-describes his appearance-grandfather shocked because he looked similar to his so called disappaered friend-interesting thing is that he had not grown older-was of the same age(friend)-grandfather confused-went out ot see-no one was there -the friend never came back.
This is only the outlin of the story.But you can elongate it and explain in detail.You can also write that when the boy becomes old,he says all this to his grandson who also meets the disappeared friend on the next day and then he disappears.
It is not necessary that ghost stories should always be nerve wrecking.You can leave it to the readers to think as to who the friend was.Was he a ghost?I have writen it on my own.You can write similar type of story with your own ideas.

well, i cant think of anything much right now, except a story in the first person, with the lead character narrating the story about a ghostly house or whatever, and he/she turns out to be the ghost in the end.
pretty bad, i knw, but i'm not really feeling creative now!!

pick your 5 best horror flicks and combine them together
there should be a very popular girl, a handsome boy, a down to earth boy, a dweeby girl, but who knows way too much about the supernatural
dont use a school, horror stories evolve around the school yard, do research on different demons that there is, and good luck!

It's a ghost story. It doesn't have to be complicated. Hell, I would have enjoyed assignments like that in school instead of the stupid ones I always got.

ok,the lead charactor(lets call him floyd cuz i love Pink Floyd)hes driving to work or whatever and he gets flagged down by this hot chick,right.hes late and doesnt want to make any detours but shes very insistant that he take a different route.eventually he concedes and he makes it to work and she disappears when he goes around to open her door.he figures she just split real fast.that evening hes watchin the news and sees there was a bridge collapse or a pile-up or something and he probly wouldve been killed.hmmm.but then,the chick would have to have died before the accident to come help him.so how bout this,hes looking at old photos and realizes the chick was his long deceased great aunt,and he feels bad cuz he wanted to bone his own dead aunt.

Well since it looks like you want someone elses book rather than your own - go to a book store and pull off any Steven King novel and copy it.
