Okay... I am at month 5 of my pregnancy, and everyone is telling me how important it is to talk and sing to my baby, as when she comes out she will love the lullabies I sang to her while pregnant... I dont know any lullabies, any suggestions on a good cd, where to purchase (online preferably, as I live in Europe, and do not have access to the wonderful American stores)?
Thank you...

They don't have to be lullabies! Any song will do. In fact it's not even manditory to sing to your baby at all - just talking in your everyday life will be enough for your baby to hear and come to know your voice and the rhythms of your speech patterns. Babies are often settled by the sound of their mother's voices just speaking to them. You don't need to sing special songs to newborns.

If you want to then fine, but don't feel pressured to do something you don't feel comfortable doing and have to go to a lot of trouble over, and certainly don't spend any money unnecessarily doing it!

If you want to sing then nursery rhymes, twinkle twinkle little star, baa baa black sheep etc will go just fine :-)

I'd heard this, too, so I played piano until I couldn't reach the keys anymore. At first he was mildly interested, but he never really cared that much - so I'm not sure how 'important' it really is. They hear your voice, and that's more comforting (I think) than music.

Do a search for songs like "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" and you should be able to find CDs. There are countless baby CDs out there. The Baby Einstein music CDs are good, too.

You don't have to use conventional lullibies. I sang James Taylor songs to mine (Sweet Baby James) and "Puff the Magic Dragon". Elton John's "Daniel", and "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down". She loves them!

You can sing any gentle, sweet songs you know.

Congratulations on your pregnancy!!
