I doubt it, although it would be cool. But if you think about it, most, if not all did have some sort of super-human characteristic. Even Batman was stronger than most men.

Considering the advancements in science and technology more than likely is my answer. The only problem.... who wants to see some dude in colored tights? Imagine what the costumes will look like (Who Want's to be a Superhero- on Sci Fi channel). Some of those people looked a little ODD to say the least. Think about it, someone tells you, i'll give you the ability to fly, but you have to wear these orange tights everyday, even under you're clothes in case we need you to save someone. And don't forget your nut hugger underwear to go over these wonderful tights and you're spandex shirt too. But i've seen worse dressed guys in the village I guess:)

There has already been at least one real super hero, back in the 1980’s. His name was Captain Sticky, and his secret identity was Richard Allen Pesta. He was an attorney from California (both of which probably contribute to why he was allowed to operate without being thrown in the loony bin.) He carried a gun that fired peanut butter and jelly.
There may be another one, someday.

It's perfectly feasable for someone to train themselves for many years and become expert in a particular field.
I'd say it's possible that someone using a character such as Batman or the Green Hornet could be operating in a large city.

Not likely, not in the sense of current comic book heroes anyway. I could envision people wearing mechanical suits that enhance their strength, allow them certain flight mobility in outer space, enhance the senses of sight and hearing, but none of these would be towards an end of creating a hero to help protect and save innocent people from the bad guys.
On the other hand, you already DO have firefighters who go in with special gear, special equipment, and a special kind of courage, who do save lives. Who's to say what they will be equipped to handle in the future.

Yep, no doubt there will be someone who has read too many comics, lost touch with reality and decides to go out dressed in a costume "To Fight The Forces of Crime."
It will be funny as he doesn't stand a chance !
If he doesn't get beaten to a pulp he will be carted off to the nut house!

I wish. I just wish that a giant meteor would crash onto earth into the sea and spread some supernaturaL radiation so I can get some super powers. If I had superpowers, I would love to have the ability to control people's minds and telepathy so I can tell who is lying to me and who isn't.
