I am starting to worry.

I am late for work almost every day, because I cannot and will not leave my room until it is super clean.

I have a laundry basket, which I dont even need, because even when I have a shirt in there, I keep looking at it and thinking about it, until I take the shirt out and put it in the washing machine.

I am also reallly germ 'aware'. I wash my hands about 8 times a day. I will not wear a shirt or even jeans, if I wore it say the day before but for only a while.

I don't like eating other people's food, I am always thinking of the germs and if they washed their hands before preparing.

I wipe my phone at work as soon as someone else used it.

I will not share my drink with anyone, except my bf.

When I see spit(doesn't matter who's spit), I feel nauseous and start gagging.

When a dog licks me, I feel dirty and uncomfortable, until I had a shower.

My office is really organised.

Am I crazy?Some people said I am OCD?Am I ?

Shannyn - You're right I can't calculate, I am actually estimating. Obviously when after going to the toilet, but I have noticed its even when I know people have touched things of mine, like my keyboard or something like that. I don't like shaking hands with people, because I hate it when their hands are sweaty. I wash my hands afterwards too. When I see people chewing on their pens, I will never let them use my pen or I wont borrow their pen.

You really need to relax and let go a little more. I guess you live alone and have gotten into a set of very tidy clean habits.

You might find that cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) would be useful. It's a kind of 'quick' therapy that's directed at changing behaviours and mind sets. It doen't involve hours and hours of talking about your childhood and delving into the whys and wherefors of what you do, it just fixes it!

For example teaching you ways to leave the house while there's a shirt in the laundry basket or to understand that you don't have to shower because a dog licked you.

If you really have a deeplying problem, then you may need professional help, but I've always found that when I was too worried about something educating me on the subject is generally enough. There have been several studies suggesting that it's actually not good for us to be overtly-clean, that keeping our immune system active with some dirt and germs is healthier than keeping everything brand-spanking clean and desinfected. Try reading some of these articles -I'll put a couple in the source, and I'm sure you can find more on the 'net- and if it's mostly a 'true' fear of getting sick then perhaps these articles can convince you to worry less about germs.

If it doesn't help or you can't even put yourself to read such things, then it's probably a deeper thing, indeed an obsessive/compulsive disorder; it's not the same as being 'crazy', but you may need some help from a counsellor to get rid of it. Don't be too embarrased to speak to your doctor about it, I'm sure he's heard many similar stories, lots of people have some kind of fear or obsession!

You may be border line. i would say go get bit of help cause can be very severe. and about the hand washing just aslong as you wash after you go to toilet and when you touch food or something dirty that normal cause i do the same. but would say you can't really calculate how often you wash your hands cause it varies each day.

In my humble opinion, you do seem a tad over on the scales, but what can you do about it now? I mean reasonably? I would love to come over to your house for dinner (I'm straight) but I would worry about all the dog hair that's probably on my clothes (4 dogs and I kiss them all too) so I guess one of us is weird. Sounds like we are both a little off!! @8-) Peace.

I don't think your really over reacting if that is your priority right now. Some great guy might come along and you can use your skills to start a relationship.
