The Muslim community should speak out publicly against the extremists maybe then the rest of us would be a bit more tolerant and understanding of them.

Out in the sticks in the North of England, where my Mum lives, a farm owned by a Muslim family gets torched when the youths of the local villages get together, get drunk and are too bored to do anything else. Grafitti clearly states their political standing.
Ignorance is a far worse threat than a belief in any religion.
I remember calling people a 'spacka' at school without any knowledge or understanding of how wrong it is. I heard others say it and said it too, complete with hand actions! Really horrible! Think of other similar things like FLID and Paki (although I always thought that was just a shortened version of Pakistani which can't possibly be taken as an insult can it?).
Other things I learnt wihtout thinking too hard about them:
-Scruffy/ Noisy/ Mucky Arab
-Hair like the wild woman of Borneo
-Wop/ Spick
So if I don't know the meaning of these things and that they can be hurtful or insulting, does it still count as racism? Because I truly believe most young Brits truly don't know what being a Muslim is about, they copy what their friends and family say and can't be blamed. As for the adults, we understand when someone makes a comment as a joke over a pint and when someone is being venomous with intent to harm an innocent. Calling someone with a beard 'Bin Laden' will not go down in the history of British language as an addition to the Collins Oxford Dictionary, it'll be forgotten after a few years and will be replaced by something else.
But I wonder if people will stop sporting beards once they hear of this? How many people do you see with mustaches like Hitler???
I remember when bombs went off anywhere in the 80s it was always blamed on the IRA, how do we know there aren't a bunch pf Physics students out there laughing at us because we're so fast to blame another religion, rather than look further afield...or even the IRA!? Who knows? Even the papers don't report the facts right do they? So we'll never truly know.

OBVIOUSLY IT IS TRUE THAT MOST MUSLIMS ARE PEACEFUL , UNFORTUNATELY THERE ARE ENOUGH FEAR INSTILLING INDIVIDUALS WHO WILL DO WHAT EVER IT TAKES TO KEEP OTHERS IN LINE! They are the ones who cause the blood shed irregardless! I used to be this great understanding person , now things have changed, and I am no longer understanding! I will be understanding again when I see other Muslims fight their murdering counterpart instead of just sitting there watching how others are being shot like a cow in the slaughterhouse! there is soooo much hate against the world by Muslim fundis just look how many bombs in how many countries went off in the past 2 weeks! so victimization is towards those who are being killed and their loved ones , Muslim or otherwise!

Possibly yes, but Dont you think that a certain few will always colour the view of others?
Look at 9/11 and then the July London bombings, we all know its not all Muslims to blame, but thats not going to stop the victimisation is it.

The sheer stupidity amongst the British public is condemning the average, life loving, hard working Muslim. Some of the nicest people I have ever met are Muslim and these people would never condone the killing of innocent human beings.
British people need to respect a lot of things including themselves. If you can't be honest to yourself you can't be honest to anyone. This country is full of ignorance and negativity. Bad publicity about a handful of extremists is bad negativity for the rest of the Muslims who live happily amongst us.

im sorry, but that is all wrong, they absolutely do not respect our religion, they come into our country and force their religious beliefs upon us, so much so that people were getting sued after christmas for singing christmas carols at a muslims door. Also "those idiots" are present in alll religious aspects but i think you will find that the christian faith or other britain localised faiths does not involve wlaking into a building, public transport or any other place wearing a bomb in a country that has given you refuge and helped your family and blowing the place up killing hundreds of innocent people. i would also like to ask you this, if i went to a country inhabited with the muslim faith and asked them to stop supporting rammadan as it upset my christian faith would they listen? WOULD THEY F**K

Ah, you are talking about Britannia. For a moment, I thought you meant the USA.
No matter, the issue is one of human nature. See, all people are naturally racist.
But what is racism, and why is it?
In order to successfully breed, all animals must find mates that are similar to themselves. Antelopes must breed with antelopes. Cats must mate with cats. Fish with fish. The alternative is to risk failing in that most important of activities: perpetuation of one's genetic pattern. This is natural, this is proper. No one argues that skunks should mate with hippos (thank the deity).
The problems with racism arise because humans have a very very narrow view of what constitutes "human." Unlike dogs, who seem to recognize any mammal (or even inanimate object of sufficient size and composition, for that matter) as a potential mate (which may explain the incredible range of breeds), humans are very specific in their choice of mates, and growing more so as our civilization becomes more sophisticated.
These days, it is not only physical characteristics, but cultural and even subcultural characteristics that determine the "fitness" of a mate. Language, dress, eating customs ... all can be regarded as markers of "us" and "them" - although they are no barrier to reproduction.
Perhaps there is an evolutionary end to such specialization ... or perhaps it is just the perversity of human society, but the result is that humans have ever more narrow definitions of what constitutes "one of us."
Since the drive to reproduce is the primary function of any organism (human beings included), and since the dominance of one's progeny is the ultimate goal, and since (for whatever reasons) those who are perceived as "different" are not "one of us" and therefore are not potential mates, but rather competitors for the same pool of resources, the result is racism.
QED.
This is not to say that it is right or appropriate, merely an explanation for why it is there as part of human nature. Racism is, in its root causes, a "green monkey syndrome" - a fear of the different and a love of consistency.
There is a counter to "racism" as a social ill, one which was arrived at rather early in our American history, but which many have forgotten in older cultures such as yours ... that is to "assimilate."
Mimicry (initially) of the culture into which one inserts oneself is an important survival tool, a lesson our ancestors (almost without exception) learned and ultimately mastered in order to avoid becoming victims of racism - my own ancestors were violently persecuted in the US when they first arrived, but quickly lost the funny speech patterns, odd clothes, and dietary peculiarities that made them "different."
Whether the initial mimicry ultimately becomes true assimilation (like for the Irish-Americans or the Gotho-Romans) or remains merely persistent and effective camouflage, is of no matter. But it is a vital survival tool - fitting in.
For a person, or a people, to fail to assimilate, to fail to "become" the same as the host culture, is to become an invader, and to meet with hostility that we term "racism", but which may just be a manifestation of primal reproductive instinct.
It is well and good to "respect their choice", but the choice they are making is whether or not to be persecuted.
