I have extremely odd dreams and I can always remember them when i wake up!!! some are scary and some are just completely unexplainable, they dont make sense. I often wake up and think to myself, what the heck was that all about lol!!! I have had very vivid dreams every night,as long as i can remember, but my fiance says he never dreams at all!!! What are dreams and how come I have them and my fiance doesnt? do they mean anything?

I understand completely, I have dreams that have no relevance to my life, weird as can be, people, places, situations I would never think of consciously. I seriously wonder if I am dreaming of former lives because so often the stuff I dream about is so completely bizarre.

I think the other possibility is my brain is just bored and trying to entertain me. It is as if it had a mind of it's own. Little pun and LOL.

On Saturday night i had a dream that i was a drugs mule importing cocaine from Russia. I got beat up and all the drugs and money was stolen. I had nothing but my plane ticket home. On the way to the airport i realised i hadn't bought my family any presents while i was away so i went to a warehouse near the airport and started stealing gifts because i couldn't afford anything. But the only departments in the shop without cctv were the sex toy and beer sections. I stole a suitcase of vodka for my mum and dad, a dildo for my sisters bf and a pair of ball clamps for my sister. Lol.

I'd like to give the smarmy answer from my Psychology class, but I personally don't believe that dreams are meaningless randomly exicited memory portions of your brain being knit together in a pattern.

If they seem to have symbols or interesting ideas in them, apply your own meaning. Since things will have particular connections for you, then you can make up a personal symbology in addition to you cultural backlog.

My empathy etc. goes to you, but at least you'll always have a conversation starter.

Keep a notepad next to your bed and write down the best and most vivid. If life with your fiance becomes monotonous, mundane, and/or lethargic, the two of you will have plenty of alternate reality scenarios to act-out. Guaranteed to add spice to your life--and these scenarios will be custom-tuned to your subconscious fears and desires.

Some have meanings, some don't. Everyone dreams, but not everyone could remember them.

It helps me interpret my dreams to remember that all characters in every one of them is me. So its me trying to explain something to myself in a nonverbal way. That's all there is to it.

You are actually dreaming right now, and what you think of as weird dreams is actually your real life.
