Sterilization is a surgical technique leaving a male or female unable to procreate. it's a method of birth control.
1. Sterilization of the male is by minor operation called vasectomy. The operation takes only a few minutes during which the sperm ducts are tied and cut. This prevents the sperm from reaching the penis, so no sperm are discharged.
2. In the woman, the operation is called tubal ligation. Both the oviducts are tied and cut. This prevents the sperms in the uterus from reaching the egg.
