This might sound a bit of a stupid question, but if my husband did a search on his phone using bluetooth, would he pick up my neighbours phone through the wall?
The reason I ask is because we were installing his new bluetooth headset last night and we picked up a phone called 'sweetcheeks'. And no he is not having an affair and it is left in the memory (he likes his crown jewels too much LOL). It just really baffled us last night.

Bluetooth signals don't have a huge range but can travel through walls so it's likely your neighbour is indeed calling herself (or himself) sweetcheeks.

Bluetooth picks up any other blutooth devices within a few metres. If your neighbour had bluetooth on, it could certainly have been them. Bluetooth doesn't care about walls, it doesn't need them. It could have also been someone walking by your house at the exact moment he did a search.

You have to enter access code for connecting each other with bluetooth. But viruses and other problems can get into your phone.

Bluetooth will send and receive radio wave signals in any direction for 10 meters / 30ft, it will not penetrate through metal though.

see frankly telling plz do not keep ur bluetooth open if u dont require coz takes bettry life away as well there is a risk of some unusal file sent to u by another one whch has virus and if u allow that file to transfer 4 juz curosity then u can harm ur phone(personal expirience)
and ofcourse ur phne may connect other phone whch has distant within around 10-15 meters...so ur hubby cn.........so keep ur bluetooth off if not required

any bluetooth fone within range will be found if it is open to be found....or any other bluetooth compatible device for that matter.
personally, i leave my bluetooth off until i need to use it as it tends to kill the battery a lot quicker leaving it on.
