Rather than trying to be perfect, set high standards and try to live up to them. The problem with trying to attain perfection is that any small flaw is seen as much bigger than it really is, and frequently this results in disappointment.
So, rather than constructing this mythical yardstick by which to measure yourself, and becoming disappointed when you don't attain it, set yourself an attainable goal to begin with, and then congratulate yourself when you get there. Then, as you become better at what you do, raise the bar bit by bit - making sure to give yourself praise when you hit the target.
You might not end up perfect, but you will end up as very very good at what you do, and in a society that accepts mediocrity far too often, you'll be an excellent individual.

the completed aspect of both Hindu and Buddhist Philosophy is that all of us initiate imperfect and would through proper living ultimately attain perfection, besides the undeniable fact that it is going to take many lives of trial and blunder. The Pythogorans of historic Greece held similar perspectives, as do many Neo-Pagan faiths. the theory that we may be able to not in any respect benefit perfection on our personal is largely an Abrahamic construct designed to make their God, and through extension their monks, quite necessary and assure their Church both monetary and political potential. a persons'' spirituality is between the most uniquely personal issues there is, opposite to what the evangelists declare of their money making pitches there is not any "one length suits all" route.

There is no such thing as a perfect person, no matter how hard you try. You can certainly excel in areas of your life but no one can acheive perfection. Do the best you can and be happy with yourself. All anyone can do is to put their best efforts into acheiving their life goals.

Perfection is, broadly, a state of completeness and flawlessness.
Humans can't be flawless but we can just do the best we can.

perfection is unattainable, of course. plus perfection is a relative concept, where one person sees perfection, another might see flaws.
