Ooh I can tell you a few stories.
My cousin, was (she isn't now I think) a Jehovah's witness. I was out shopping with my cousin and her Jehovah witness mate. We were in a card shop looking at the cards when my cousin picked on up - you know the cards where they use photos and add speech bubbles and caption marks. Anyway this card she's picked up has a photo of a rock climber about to reach the top of a cliff and the speech bubble says " Have those Jehovah's witnesses gone yet"?
Priceless. My cousin just stormed out of the shop.

My best friend is a Witness. They genuinely believe that it's their duty to try and 'save you' because when the world ends soon only Witnesses will be brought back to live in another life, whatever that may be. Most also have a quota of hours per month that they have to spend trying to convert people to their congregation and they do the full quota because they're not allowed to lie or deceive.

Imagine back in Jesus's day if he came knocking on a door to spread the good news, and they just slammed it in his face. His last order to his apostles was to go out into the world and 'spread the good word of the kingdom of God'. I don't believe they want to convert people, although they would like that alot. But their main purpose in going door to door is just to be 'Witnessess.' They witness the coming of the kingdom in a world that has completely forgotton about it. And it takes guts to do it too, to follow Jesus's commandment of going door to door. I asked one of them one time why they don't just have their own channel on T.V. or radio station. They replied that they cannot use the mediums of the world to do this work. And that if they did not bear witness of the coming of the kingdom they would be held guilty for not trying to inform those who were 'ignorant of the truth.' I have great respect for them and always invite them in for a chat. They are good people in a world of decievers and false prophets. Their actions testify to this, for I have never met a more decent, honest, moral human in my life than the J.W.'s.

They wanted to force you believe their false belief on the bible or scripture . The name of their church is a very good evidence that the founder and its members are ignorant on the bibles teachings. The have change the name of God as Jehovah and they inserted it to the bible when they know that the bible should not be change nor additional words would be added to it is prohibited. How could they be a Witness to God when they could not understand the bible?

Actually we had a guy who came regularly and was very nice he would chat for while offer us the Watchtower which we always declined then move on. I was in in late 70's and we have not seen him for about a year so I guess he has died or gone into a home. We also had couple who used to lodge with us when they came to the rally at Twickenham. they never talked about religion with us. They were very pleasant

Because you are not punching them hard enough. I have found that a swift kick or punch to the groin nearly always works, failing that a good hard wack with a bat will most certainly get the job done and will put them off calling again.
If all of the above fails go to the door naked with 666 written in blood across your ****, this will have them running for the nearest kingdom Hall.

Its your front door, they dress in a style you know exactly who they are, so don't open the door. Saves lots of aggravation.
If its a warm day and your door is open when they show up you can just say no thank you like you would do any other solicitor and close the door.

I honestly don't know but they are very rude and demanding, people should be allowed to choose their own religion and not have it thrust in their face by others, I generally tell them I'm not interested and ask them to close the gate on their way out.

this is what I always say to them and its a guaranteed way of getting them to go...
they say as you open your door
"Good morning we just wanted to know how you feel about the suffering in the world"
you say
"hi, yes I was concerned until I read the bible and read that it was Gods way of making sure that the world isn't overpopulated and it is Gods way of taking the good and the suffering to heaven"
Normally they look at you stunned that you have a little knowledge and they ALWAYS go away without saying another word, I was in an argumentative mood one morning now they give my house a wide berth...cool eh!!!!!
