Their first baby was diagnosed as g6pd deficient when he sufferred neonatal jaundice within 24 hrs. of birth. His blood exchange transfusion was performed. That baby is a 10 yrs old child now and doing fine. The couple wishes another child but is not being able to decide if they should try for a second baby for the fear of going through that same trauma again. And also for the fear, what if something worse happens, say like bilirubin going to the brain or something fatal.....

This a a decision every parent to be goes through. If they decide to go ahead and have another baby, are they strong enough to cope with it if it happens again.

I'm a mom of two. 34 yrs when first child was born and then 36 yrs with second. I didn't have any of the pregnant test done. I said I would love my child no matter what. They are both healthy.

It is always a big decision to have a child. Your decision is bigger as you know some of the things that can go wrong.
There are no garentees in pergnancy or birth. Believe me i wish there were.
I had problems having my daughter and i have had more children since then. I sit back and think... it was all worth it, the worry the time in hospital. I would do it over again just to have her here.
Talk to a speciallist before you get pregnant and ask as many questions as you need to. It might be that your first born is the only that might have these problems. I wish you luck and i hope if you do decide to have another one it all goes well
