In most cases I would believe the mother, but overall it is the better parent. In General the women is a better nurturer and can raise children better overall, it's just a fact or we wouldn't be the ones getting pregnant and giving birth. But there are some cases where the mother is unfit and the father is the better option.
I personally believe that if you have children you sacrifice your life and happiness for them, they deserve two parents. I would do anything for my kids and I do mean ANYTHING to provide the best life possible.
Also trying to get custody of your kids should be more then trying to hurt the other spouse. Alot of time kids are used as tools to hurt the other parent and get caught in the middle of a nasty battle.

As long as she is a good mother and going to take good care of them, generally the mother will get custody.
If it is determined that she is a bad mother and it's not in the best interest of the children, they will then give custody to the father.
That's the world we live in.
She gets the kids, the house and everything in it, the good car, and child support.
The father will be lucky to ride a bicycle away carrying a garbage bag of his own clothes on his way to find a second job to pay the child support they hit him with.
It doesn't matter is the mother "should" get custody or not, 99 per cent of the time they will, its just the way it works.

Sorry mate but you can expect your ex to get full custody and you as much access to the children if they are important to you. Whatever you do don't bad mouth the ex, take your custody and enjoy it to the max, divorce dosen't make you less a father they love you both and it would be unfair to have a child pick and choose. Children of divorced parents undergo a lot of mental strain. Be a father and love them to the max and it will all come back to you ten fold. I wish you the best!

The Children Act, quite rightly in my opinion, decrees that the needs of the child are paramount. If it is in the child's best interest to stay with the biological father for whatever reason, then so be it. Similarly, if it is in the child's best interest to stay with the biological mother, then so be it. You say that you want our answer to be the father, but is that an objective opinion that takes into account the child's needs?

Best wishes, J

AS A PARENT i believe it comes down to the welfare of the child/children, most of the time the mums do get custody but there are some mums out there who are not stable enough either mentally and/or financially, thats when dads should be granted custody, providing they are
