Although sung by Karen Carpenter, the label shows it is accredited to the Carpenters - at the time her and her brother Richard.
The record reached No 2 in the Uk charts in July 1973, and stayed in the charts for a total of 17 weeks.
Unfortunately, Karen died of a heart failure through anorexia in Feb 1983. The Carpenters have a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
But their music is still popular today and lives on.
I don't think they ever sold a 'duff' cassette - filled with rubbish. Every title was in the charts.

The Carpenters. (Richard Carpenter wrote. 'Karen and I introduced an "oldies" medley into our concert show starting the summer of 1972 and it met with such an enthusiastic response we decided to feature a similar medley in our upcoming album. It was around this time that certain radio stations were changing their formats to all "oldies". I thought we should write a song that would reflect this fact and also "set-up" the medley. Yesterday Once More was the result and it became our biggest worldwide hit.').
