Do you think I could have caused any problems using it? I did clean it afterwards fairly well, but I know he'll blow his top if he knew i used it so ive kept quiet about it. I did notice i was spitting out blood from the bleeding gums when i had finished but I did rinse the brush afterwards fairly well. Do you think everything will be alright? should i confess to him that i used it or keep schtum?

First of all, gross. Second since you obviously have access to your friends toothbrush when he isnt present why not replace his toothbrush with an identical one. Then if he gets the same problem fess up.

did he use a diff brand of toothpaste? If so that is what it was. Sometimes switching brands does that. Don't stress. My dentist told me that you can spread plaque that way though. Bring your own in the future.
