I'm using 8 computers and an 8-port hub and im planning to add 4 more computers, what do i need to do? can i still use my old hub and add another 8-port hub? or i need to buy a new hub with more ports on it and not use the old one???

Buy another 8 Port Hub. Connect a Network cable from the Uplink Port of your First Hub to the First Port of the second hub.
And everything should work fine.

It all depends on your preference. If you don't mind looking at 2 hubs then get the 8 port hub and do what the first guy says. If you prefer looking at one unit, then you should invest in either a 16 or 24 port hub depending on your chances of having to add more PCs at a later date. Either one will work.
