Guiliani's name was tossed around to take over FEMA, but he made it clear he wasn't interested.

Guiliani wouldn't have been very good though, I believe. He was always an in-person leader - he wanted to be there and controlling what was going on. I don't know how well that would have worked for FEMA, because the Director is not the hands-in person on the scene.

Guiliani was a great mayor of New York, even before 9/11. He has the potential to be a great leader in whatever political arena he is interested in.

I agree. Giuliani would be a great selection as Director of Fema. He has a talent in working with ppl and he did an outstanding job in NYC handling the 911 crisis.

You people do not know the Giuliani I and most New Yorkers knew the day BEFORE 9/11.
On 9/11 he did what ANY major would have done. We were surprised at his calmness and words, because that is NOT NORMAL for him.

I, too, gave him high marks for that day and that day only.

I'm not surprised he turned down the FE MA job offer. He did not like blacks in NY why would he care for us in LOLA?

Now, if they are Jewish it would be a whole different story - Giuliani is bought and paid for - by Israel.

Yes he would have been the perfect candidate, but that would have resulted in a pay cut for him. The Republicans lowered all of the FEMA standards first thing when they took Majority of Congress back in 96. These are things that they don't want to admit to.

Good point! Rudolph Giuliani is a logical choice for a lot of questions.

yes but you must remember the corruption lies within N.O. and not the fema org. I am still waiting for an apology from their Chocolate mayor for fleecing the American tax payer If they stuck it to us this bad you know they are committing insurance fraud which will cost everyone as well

His experiences on 9/11 would have made him a good candidate for that position. He would have brought hands on experience to the job. I am firmly in his camp in his run for the Presidency. I think he will make a truly great President.

He had his eye on a bigger plan, and was working that plan. FEMA job would have got in his way.

I think Rudy would have been a good Sec. of Homeland Security. Maybe McCain will appoint him to the position in 2008.
