Ie, what is better: petrol or electric, what other things do I need to know? Thanks

You also need to consider cost, and how likely it is you're going to have to rebuild/repair it. If you are not very experienced, try something cheap and/or easy to fix. Petrol vs. electric might not be an important factor to start off. Once you are comfortable with flying the thing, then you can start looking at more complex models, and different power plants.

Hi first noise nitro engines are noisy but not bad with a muffler you will need in either case field equipment IE starter, glow battery the things you need to start the plane, but after you get what you need you have it. electric what no one tells you is the battery cost and you need more then one to keep flying also li-poly battery's are not made to be drawn down to minimum and will not last. here's a few sites you can look at .
