I like Dahlia Jeanmarie...it sounds feminine & elegant. Ashlyn is nice too but all the latest baby names for about 2-3 yrs end w/ a -lyn or a ryn and all names seem the same bc they rhyme inclyding the boys name like Braden, Hayden etc.
That's just my opinion.
Hope this helped!

I like them. Dresden makes me think of Harry Dresden and The dresden files (the books, not the weird tv show that's nothing like the books, especially teamed with James, because James Marsters does the audio version of the books!) but not many people will know them so it's not a big deal! It's a pretty cool name despite that. And teaming it wil James means he could use the more usual name if he needed to in a certain situation.

I prefer Ashlyn Jeanmarie over Dahlia, because like the person who posted above, it reminds me of the Dahlia murders, which is a well known thing, and not a nice thing at that! I'd prefer Jean-Marie hyphanated but that's just a personal choice and doesn't matter.

Oh I have to add, it's not because of superstition to do with Dahlia why I don't like it. It's because most people she introduces herself to will think of that, and I don't think that gives a nice first impression if you will. It's up to you though.

Overall, Nice names. Unique but not crazy with weird spellings which is perfect.

I'm not a big fan of Dresden or Dahlia for first names. If it was my child I would go with James Dresden or Ashlyn Dahlia if I was going to use those two names. Whatever you decide I'm sure the baby will be precious. :)

The people with the negative comments really get on my nerves!!! As long as you and you fiance love that baby's name, don't worry about the negativity. Dresden is very different, but I like it. I like Dahlia too, I wouldn't think of a precious little baby being a murderer!

I LOVE Dahlia, it's pretty and feminine, not like the horrible Nevaeh that seems to be the name of choice at the moment, how I hate that one!!!!

I am not keen on Dresden, it is a name of a company here which puts me off a bit, but I adore James.

for the boy, i think that dresden james is perfect. i mean, its kinda unique and it sounds cute. if your baby is a girl, i rather want you to pick ashlyn jeanmarie. i think ashlyn sounds just fine rather than dahlia which reminds me of the dahlia murders. my second name is also jean....hehe... :)

i like your boys' name that you picked and out of the 2 girls names i would go with Ashlyn because Dahlia made me think instantly of the black Dahlia murders.
