the cockle shells that grow in MAry's garden need exactly 10L of water a day and they can be watered only once a day. She has 2 jugs of 9L and 11L capacity respectively and a pool full of water. Can she water her cockle shells as required???

if so can u please explain why or why not???

Fill the 11 l jar and pour the water into the 9 l jar. This would leave 2 l in the 11 l jar. Empty the water from the 9 l jar into the pool and transfer the 2 l water from the 11 l jar into the other jar.
Fill the 11 l jar again and pour the water into the 9 l jar that already contains 2 l water. This would leave 4 l water in the 11 l jar. Empty the 9 l jar into the pool and transfer the 4 l water from the 11 l jar into the empty 9 l jar.
Repeat the above process thrice more, and at the end of the third process, you would find the 11 l jar containing exactly 10 l of water.

yes 11-9 = 2 times 5 = 10
