all my fish in my pond have suddenly died over night. There is a slight foam on top of the water and a sweet smell.I have tested the water for ph,no2,no3,kh and gh.The tests showed the water is in good condition,so why have they died.Have they been poisoned ?

The smell and the foam indicate soap, perhaps. Can anyone have had access to the pond? Can any sewer have fallen in it? If you saw the foam and dead fish, I believe something poisoned them, but only a lab can determine exactly what it was.

Goldfish in small spaces will bully and chase one another. A bowl is not a suitable home for any fish. Goldfish, especially pond fish like Comets, need a minimum of a 4-5ft long fish tank with double filtration. If you can't provide that, rehome the fish.

that does sound like a soap or detergent got in there.

have got some troublesome kids in your area? or unfriendly neighbours? or an ex-friend with a vendetta?

i would empty the pond, give it a very thorough rinse. did you have a filter running on it? if so, if this got in there it would have killed any good bacteria you had living in the filter too. i would refill and give it a few weeks (do you cycle ponds?) and then try again.

Meanwhile look out for any pesky troublemakers who could have had access to your pond!

It may be a consequence of a possible infection or a chemical . But you say ph levels were good then there has been an infection in the water.
