Why don't you ask him if he is bored of you. Maybe you need to do something excites him. Spice your marriage life up a little bit then see what happens. Hope this helps.

To answer your question, it is most likely because he is doing something risky. He knows deep down that this is not anything that he could talk his way out of at home, its generally accepted as a risky group to be around and with. It is true that he's most likely not going to have to work to get to sexual gratification either. Its like a sexual "easy button"
