Any one of the eight can pip others.
Let us hope India is that ONE..

Yes Indian cricket team has the ability. What then lacks? 1. Inconsistency of performance level. Brilliant at one day and absolutely pathetic, the other day. 2. All players click at the same time and fail at the same time. I mean all players will either play well or fare miserably in the same match. 3. The bowling dept. of the team need to be picked up. Hopefully, as they have played in last 7 matches in India, they are finding that rhythm in their attack. 4. Fielding is more or less there. 5. If they have an answer to point no. 2, thats the key, India could emerge as winners.

Hot favourites to win the world cup till a month back was Australia. After their straight defeat at the hands of England and New Zeland, South Africa have become hot favourites.

Still I feel that even their win of world cup cannot be guaranteed as the final outcome will depend upon the performance of the team during the world cup. Whichever team plays to their potential consistently with lot of application, dedication, fighting spirit will be the ultimate winner.

In this perspective all the top 8 teams including India have a chance to win the world cup.

India winning the world cup 2007, after their performance against the lankans ofcourse the answer is yes. they are one of the favourites. tendulkar got runs, ganguly got runs, dravid got runs, yuvraj got runs, dhoni got runs, uthapa the new run machine and to add to all the spice, surprisingly enough sehwag got runs, finally i think his honeymoon is over. bowling department is still a worry but history woudn't allow sachin tendulkar to retire before he kisses the ultimate trophy. after all he is the big match player, as they say " when going gets tough, the tough gets going". hail to the lord of indian cricket.

Australia, South Africa, Sri Lanka, NZ, Windies and Pakistan.

With that pitiful bowling attack and average batting India won't make the Super Six.

I kind of feel sorry for the little guy (Sachin).

That simply means.....

You are an INDIAN.

Keep it up.

(But reality is......... neither the ICC ranking, nor current form (overseas), nor team composition, nor fitness level, nor killer instinct, nor leadership quality, nor the coaching standard, nor the inside-politics, nor the other thousand indicators are pointing in INDIA's favour .....

So my dear sweet friend......

If India win, Good.
If India do not......... well........... that was expected.
