You CAN'T unlock a car with a cell phone. Alarms work on RF(radio frequency), not sound. Microphones pick up sound, not RF. Therefore, since the remote for an alarm does not give off sound, but RF, the signal will not be transmitted. The video going around the net is a fake. The person in the video is CLEARLY still in range since you can see the rim from his car in the shot where he is calling the other phone and pressing the button.

Nope, not possible. The remotes work by sending a RF, or Radio Frequency signal (like radio and TV). The audio sent on cell phones only contain audible audio. Like with radio, without a receiver tuned to the right frequency, you're simply not going to receive the signal.

If you've tried doing it and it works, it's probably because the remote you pressed was still within receiving range of your car.

No it doesn't work. Car remote work with electromagnetic wave. Sadly, electromagnetic wave couldn't be sent tru handphones.
