Six easy steps to create your website

Creating your website is simple and should take from around 45 minutes. You can save your work at any stage and come back to complete it later if you don't want to follow the whole process at once.

These are the steps that will be required when you come to create your website. Full instructions are given at all stages of the process.
1. Select your website style

2. Create your homepage

3. Include map and contact pages (optional)

4. Create additional pages (optional)

5. Create your Priority Advert

6. Buy your own Domain Name (optional)

Start creating your website

Begin stage one—select a style for your website.
Continue

More information about each step
1. Select your website style

In this stage you will:

* Select a template for the overall design of your website,
* Choose from hundreds of colours for your template, background and text,
* Select an image theme,
* Add your company name to appear at the top of each page of your website,
* Upload your company logo onto your website if required.

2. Create your homepage

In this stage you will:

* Add your contact details: address, telephone numbers, fax number, mobile number, e-mail and contact name,
* Include introductory text with optional image to tell customers about your company,
* Include key phrases about your products and services,
* Add more detailed text about your business and more images if required,
* Add your opening hours if required.

3. Include map and contact pages (optional)

In this stage you can:

* Add a map page showing the location of your business to enable users to find you easily,
* Add a contact page enabling users to e-mail you directly from your website.

4. Create additional pages (optional)

In this stage you will:

* Create up to 10 further pages at a cost of £90 each,
* Include a product catalogue page, text and images in different layout combinations, a photo gallery, a links page, a list of business branches, or a frequently asked questions page,
* Add text and images to tell customers more about your company, products and services.

5. Create your Priority Advert

In this stage you will:

* Create your Web Link which will appear on Yell.com's search results pages,
* Add information to clearly identify the goods or services your business offers.

6. Buy your own Domain Name (optional)

A Domain Name gives you a unique internet address for your business, e.g. www.yourcompanyname.co.uk. It provides a professional image and means you can promote your website effectively.

If you choose not to purchase a Domain Name, you will receive a standard Site Builder internet address, e.g. http://sitebuilder.yell.com/sb/show.do?id=SB1000907499000030.

In this stage you can:

* Search for your own unique Domain Name if required,
* Follow instructions on what to do if you already have a Domain Name from Yell or from another company.

Flexible and easy to update
Remember, you only pay for your Site Builder after you have created and approved it and you can:

* Review and revise your work at any stage in the process,
* Save your work at any stage and come back to complete your Site Builder later,

* Change and update your site for free at any time throughout the year.

Hi,
It all depends on your level of expertise.
If you know basics like html, jsp, ejb, web deployment, then you can start of directly.

But I guess you are a beginner. So the best way to go about is to follow the link http://www.w3schools.com

step1: u need to recignise your needs.

dynamic or static?

in case of dynamic pages u need to learn either of ASP,JSP,DHTML,PHP,perl & etc.

in case of static create your html pages

step2: get space on some web hosting site, free web hosting wont allow dynamic pages, they allow only static, put your pages there and open your home page thats it.
