Because of expansion and contraction the best time to get your petrol is first thing in the morning. when the fuel is at it's coolest. the worst time would be late evening when it has expanded due to the heat of the day.

If you squeeze the trigger very gently so that only a drip comes out there will not be enough flow to turn the flowmeter. However the pump will turn off after 60 seconds having sensed no flow.

When you let go of the trigger, hold the nozzle more vertical so that all the drips go into your tank, not down the side of your car. That's the only way to get all you pay for!

It makes no difference, only the petrol past the valve comes out the nozzle.

The metering system is buried in the body of the pump. Whatever method you use to handle the nozzle doesn't affect the quantity it delivers.

0% difference, the petrol that flows from the pump is measured using a flow meter, if it goes past/through the flow meter, you pay for it.
