"The Quiet Man" Twice
John Wayne stopping Maureen O'Hara from leaving his cottage, spinning her back then going into a wonderful clutch, after which, when she recovers she delivers a great roundhouse slap. But wait for the dialogue afterwards, cuz it's great, too. (You might remember this little snippet of scene from "E.T." when Elliot does the same to a young lady in his class, because that's the movie E.T. is watching at home.)
The second takes place after they are officially courting, and they escape from the wary eye of their chaperone, and end up in a church yard in the rain, and as they stop, soaked to the skin, and kiss, it is his white shirt that clings to him in the rain looking half naked. Her hand trails along his shoulder and chest as they kiss again. The chemistry is glorious, and they are obviously a mature couple in love.
It is the most sensitive, role Wayne ever played, and the sexiest. Ironically the movie is narated by the parish priest; a celebate.
P.S. Try counting all the half finished cigaettes Wayne tosses away across the Irish lanndscape. Try, I dare ya.

My personal opinion for best makeout scene from a movie is the one between Mel Gibson and Goldie Hawn in "Bird on a Wire" which was an incredibly romantic/exciting movie. Mel plays a man who is in the witness protection program and runs into his former girlfriend by mistake. While being chased by the bad guys they wind up in a crappy hotel room. There is only one bed in the room so they are forced to share it. While they are in bed arguing about her boyfriend he suddenly kisses her. It gives me goosebumps every time.

Jeff Goldblum and Emma Thompson 'making out' in The Tall Guy is hilarious, especially when she sits on the carton of milk and it squirts everywhere.
