You know on the directions.... it says to not read the results like 10-20 minutes after you have taken the test. To solve this problem why dont you just take another test??

Please trust my advice here:The test you did isnt positive i had the same thing happen it was negative untill 5 hours later i came home looked again and there it was plain as day a second fat positive line!so heres me all exceited phoned to get my appt with the doc got to the docs they tested me 2 times infact and both negative i said so wait its a false positive no she said there is a reason that ALL hpts state on the packs and instruction after 10mins the results are 99.9% accurate at the ten minute mark chuck the test away after this time evap lines etc become stronger all tests have a readable time frame for a reason, with that i came home 2 days later there she was my period arrived due to the fact worry am i preggo or not had gone!theres many reasons why your period may be late for now take it as a negative if the line wasent there within 10mins trust that result.and if your period still isnt here within a week do another to be sure.

If you think you may be pregnant, go to a doc and have a serum pregnancy test done. These tests are checking for the pregnancy hormone HCG. Each test has a different threshold of the amount of the hormone which will trigger a positive result. If one test does say positive, chances are that you are pregnant. The EPT is supposedly a first detect kind of test, which means you may only need a small amount of HCG in your body for it to show a positive result. If you truly want to be sure, have a blood test done. It is the most stable test of the amount of hormone in your system, since it it depleted in your urine as you drink more water or urinate thorughout the day.
Either way good luck!

Are you sure it wasn't this:
What's an evaporation line? Evaporation ("evap") lines result with the test's antibody strip just looks slightly different than the space around it. There is a line of antibodies (usually made from mouse cells) in the Control and Test section. The Control line binds with any liquid and turns pink (or blue, in tests using blue dye.) The Test/Result line turns pink only if pregnancy hormone is detected. If not, the moisture passes over this strip and does not turn pink. It may, however, become more visible when the light hits the moisture on the strip-- it may appear gray, colorless, like a "dent" in the test, or like a "ghost line." It may appear at any time-- as soon as the urine hits it, after a few minutes as the test absorbs the moisture, or after the 10-minute time limit. It may appear when the test is drying, or after it has dried. It may disappear as the test is drying, or after the test has dried, or not disappear at all.
The simple fact is that there is always "something there" that is slightly visible-- it's simply the antibodies on the test that would turn pink in the presence of hCG. When the test becomes wet, or as it dries, or after it dries, the antibody strip may become more visible. Therefore, all tests may have them. It is not a defect; it's just how tests are made.
A real positive is identified by its color (pink or blue, whatever the color of the test's dye is) and its appearance within 10 minutes of urinating on the stick. A line that appears after 10 minutes, regardless of color, must be considered an evap line and is caused by the test's chemicals changing. HPT's are rapid assay diagnostics, which means any results appearing after the "rapid" time limit of 10 minutes are invalid.

On the packaging of any preg test it should say that after urinating on the stick etc please read the results within 10 mins....after that the results are not to be used as a line can appear after this ten minute period telling you that your pregnant when you are not. However if you still arent on in a few days then do another test. Goodluck and hope you get what you want x x x

if the test says pregnant that you probably are, i did loads of negative tests before i did one that said i was pregnant, the pregnancy hormone could of been diluted in you urine, the best thing to do is that a test as soon as you wake up in the morning then you will the the most accurate reading, if your still not happy with the result ask you GP to do a blood test as these are more accurate.

the test that you did 2 days ago will not work properly now and will give you a false answer, you need to do a new test and make sure you wait the recommended time before reading it, good luck

i would go to a chemist and get a pregnancy test done there, they do them for free, they will tell you straight out if you are pregnant or not and you don't have to get confused with all the lines on the pregnancy test

Go to the local chemist and explain this to them. You will probably be advised to take another test or the chemist will offer to do one for you which means they will need a urine sample, pref your first one of the day, so try to take one with you so you dont have to wait.

The tests are so accurate these days that although you can get a false NEGATIVE, you CANNOT get a false POSITIVE. If it says you are pregnant, then you are. Congrats.
