What is the hindi name of EPSOM SALT? And what is its use to humans..

It is Mg.SO4. 7H20....Magnesium sulphate heptahydrate

It works as a laxative because

1. its high molecular weight makes it unabsorbable by the villi of the intestine.

2. By Osmosis it pulls water across the cell membrane of the intestine , hence building up af unabsorbable water in the lumen of the intestine.

The water speeds up the peristalsis and therefore acts as a laxative.

Sorry I do not know the Hindi name.

I do not know if there is a Hindi name for Epsom salt. The compound is Magnesium sulfate heptahydrate. In non-English speaking parts of the world it is often sold as Sulphate of Magnesia crystals (or a translation of this).

Epsom salts is used as a mild laxative and a soak for injured parts of the human anatomy.

EPSOM salt is hydrated magnesium sulphate, It is used as a laxative for human consumption. It prepared by the action of sulphuric acid on magnesium carbonate or Hydroxide. MgSO4.7H2O
It is also used in sizing and as a fireproofing agent.

I am indian myself and I dont know the name for it. However elders have always been saying it is very beneficial. It helps recovers injuries and when you put it in warm water and stick your leg in, you get a relaxing feeling. It helps circulate your legs and especially if it is numb. It also can help relieve arthiritus.
