My eyes are a light green/gold and have not a fleck of brown in them, yet from a distance they appear brown, the same color as my hair. Why is this?

Shadows, The light is what makes your eyes sparkle and bright. When you are far away the shadows make your eyes look dark and dull. I have the same problem i have bright light blue eyes but from a distance they are like navy blue

It takes light to see colors. The sun rays penetrates up to 20 meters under water. Below that and deeper, everything is just gray.

diminished/widely used pores and skin looks super with auburn hair and hazel eyes. in case you get a tan and have auburn hair it won't seem very solid. Plus you get pores and skin maximum cancers from tanning any way. And specific i think of that in case you dye your hair auburn it will make your eyes seem extra eco-friendly.

i think shadows get in the way of the brighter/lighter green parts of your eye.
