ive been feeling these pains,pinching, and tightness all around my stomach on and off and i just have this feeling that this baby is going to come very soon. i went to the doc today and im not dialated. can istart getting contractions without being dialated yet... i am 36w 2d

Braxton Hicks are common and some ladies dont dilate until labor starts for real. You may want to join a free birthclub, so you can "talk" to women exactly in the same birth month as yourself. Its good to compare notes or just lurk;

You are probably starting to dialate. My sister in law is pregnant and was having contractions (small nothing serious) went to doctor and wasnt dialated. Now that the contractions are coming more often she dialted to 1/2 and 4 days later she dialted to a 2. Having my first neice Wednesday unless she goes in labor now which is possible. but you are probably dialating now. good luck
