The Anglican leaders in Africa oppose same sex unions and forbid it in their religioud leaders. Since monestaries and nunneries can make their members obstain from sexual relations, does any church have the right to have a say? Should society be able to tell a church what to do?

They did not reject gay and lesbian members. They told their members that they should stop pretending they have the right to create new liturgy for gays until the matter is more settled, and that there should be a similar hold on consecrating gay bishops for the same reason. It will take time to find how gay life is to be integrated into society at large, and any gay that claims that everything that is to be known about homosexuality is known now, is wrong. Their case isn't helped by the attitude, "If you don't give it to me now, I'm going to hold my breath until my face turns blue!!!"

I don't think they are rejecting them in the sense that that can't attend church services but rather rejecting the idea that they can be married in the church like a man and a woman.

If the members of the church agree with this policy there is nothing the government can do to stop that.

It's not a matter of telling the church what to do, it's just a matter of ignoring the church. Times are changing, and I'm willing to bet that once people stop obeying the church on this issue, that the church will follow the views of it's people. The church only has as much power as people give it...

I have a different view on this. The Anglican Church has a right to set its own rules.I am not anti gay but the most practical solution to this is this. What is wrong with the gay community setting up its own
religious church. They are normally pretty well organized and financial.I dont see why they cant set up their own church.

Well, when we reject what God says, we should look out for bad things to happen. God says that in the end days, Men will be lovers of Men and not of God. Seems like we should be looking for the end to come any day now. No, we don't have the right to tell churches what to do, but God does, and He plainly tells us that sex between two men or two women is wrong.

Rejection of classic gender roles would, and frequently does, do not have any further some thing to do with homosexuality. maximum male bypass-dressers are heterosexuals who placed on women folk's clothing yet do not want sex with different adult men. maximum male homosexuals do not placed on women folk's clothing, and many conform fairly rigidly to classic gender stereotypes except at the same time as it is composed of having gay sex. (i can not communicate so properly for women folk; i prefer to fake i'm one, yet really i'm no longer.) i began pretending i grow to be a lady at the same time as i grow to be 11 years previous because i grow to be so enthusiastic about ladies that I basically had to target to comprehend the way it felt to be one. that is lots diverse from wanting sex with a guy as such.

Read the first chapter of Romans...you pretty much get a perspective on St. Paul's (and hopefully the Christian Church's) thoughts on homosexuality.
