When do you ever buy a cake and just let it sit there so it looks pretty?

Even as beautiful as a wedding cake is, people still chow down on it.

I hate this cliche line. What exactly does it mean anyway. And why do so many women use it?

This is on the same level as:

I love you but not IN love with you

The grass is not always greener on the othe side blah blah blah

"Having your cake and eating it too" simply means you can't have two incompatible things at once. Women tend to use it in the context that men "cannot be in a relationship and ____." Whatever that blank may be, the point of the phrase is to clarify that you must make a decision: do you want the cake to sit there and look pretty (do you want to do this), or do you want to eat it (or do you want to do that)? The reality of the situation is that most people go with eating their cake, but the idea is that once you've decided to eat it, you can no longer say "I have cake!", because it's gone forever through your digestive tract.

The, "I love you but I'm not IN love with you" makes sense. Being in love entails much more than loving someone: you love your grandmother, but you're not in love with her. You may love a best friend, but you're not in love with them. It's when this line is used as a shitty excuse to get out of relationships that it becomes moronic.

I even have continuously puzzled that myself. Who of their suitable concepts could purchase/ make a cake, and not consume it. that is pointless. The "Grass isn't continuously greener....:" i will understand. anybody who has been raised around livestock is familiar with why. Cows will bend their neck, twist turn, and do each and every attainable to get that grass exterior the fence. even while it quite is the right comparable grass it quite is in the fence. So, that one I understand. *extra* i think of they ignored your element. He wasn't asking approximately cheating, working around, etc. He replaced into speaking on the subject of the quite assertion "you won't be in a position to have you ever cake and consume it too." The assertion itself does not make sense. Why purchase/ make a cake, and not consume it? What does having cake or eating cake could do with relationships?

If you are trying to figure out women I just have to say "good luck". We have all heard the I just want to be friends line or I am not ready. I like pie and cake so if I buy one there is a good chance I am going to indulge. I don't even try to figure them out anymore. I will give you an example, I was skiing one day and a girl I kind of went out with maybe once in middle school was on the trail, I just said hello and she glared at me, like she was pissed off at me for some ungodly reason. I mean I haven't seen this woman for years and I was just trying to be polite. I don't even think she is attractive and the last I heard she was married. It just goes to show you that they hold grudges forever. I don't really care, because I have spent a good share of my life avoiding the people I went to school with, most of them were two-faced. I think it bothers some people if you appear to be happy with yourself. Believe me you don't want to spend the rest of your life with a person that doesn't know how to be happy, even with less because hardship affects most of us eventually.

it depends on what you are talking about NONfiguratively. marriage and dating- or anything like that... you cant have both because it is risky and if you get caught then you cant have cake OR eat it. and it is unfair to the other person. they are behaving. and palying by the rules. if you want the rules to change, then let them in on it- as in let them date others too.
