Well, I know that exercise definitely helps with depression, but it does it help alleviate your PMS symptoms, too?

PMS is due to the imblanance of hormones before and during your period. Exercising, helps with stress and also helps balance some of those hormones. You're often irritable right before your period (part of PMS) and exercising helps take that irritability out of you, by putting your body to work. Working out also brings on an onset of hormones, one of which is seretonin. These help elevate your mood, making you happier. You're also left tired after working out, leaving you less likely to blow up at the little things that annoy you more so right before your period.

So yes, I believe exercising can help PMS symptoms. But either way, working out is good for you, it will leave you feeling more balanced, not just before your period, but all month long. I also find exercising on the 2nd or 3rd day of my period, after I'm feeling a little better and not so crampy, helps me feel better, too.

It's definitely part of a good treatment plan for PMS.

A good, healthy diet with very little or no sugar and very little processed flour and other processed stuff will help a lot, too.
