The water will become ice if it can expand even if it has no air room and needs to break the can. If the tank is tough enough to hold the pressure but not yielding the additional volume the pressure will rise up and the water will stay in the liquid form even if the temperature drops below 0 degree C.

Why? Maybe, to make sure the pressure from the animal feet can melt, rather than to solidify the ice further, so the animals won't be tuck and die on a water snow surface, nature has pre-programmed the water molecules to adjust the asymmetry of their two hydrogen atoms across the common oxygen atoms with temperature and pressure to have a minimum volume as a liquid and not as a solid. The volume of water is minimum at about 4 degree C at around atm pressure, and expands when either going colder or hotter.

if you happen to put water bottle in freezer for a long time then it will burst. the reason is as follows :- water has certainly more density than ice.so the volume of ice is greater than water.so the water in the bottle expands and when it forms ice,the bottle bursts due to expansion.

That depends on how full the bottle is and how much dissolved gas is in the water. It will bulge, it always does because water expands when it freezes. You can minimize this by boiling the gases out of the water. Whether the bottle cracks depends on the bottle's strength and how much the water expands. I freeze gallon jugs of tap water for my picnic cooler and they haven't burst yet. They bulge pretty good, though.

If it's a bottle of water bought from the shop, it's not a good idea to do this. Freezing releases chemicals in the plastic that aren't good for you when you next drink it...

Well, if there's water in it, it'll freeze. If it's filled to the top, it'll expand far enough to crack the container. If you leave room at the top, it'll still expand, but it won't crack.
