I have just recently began to recover from anorexia, and was wondering how long it will take to get my periods back. I am only 16 and have not had my period for almost 7 months. I never thought i would be pleading fo it to come back! Can anyone help?

well stress is SOO bad for your body...it messes with you estrogen and ur other femail hormones and i can say the being anorexic or recovering is EXTREMELT stressfull..you also need to maintain a healthy body soo dont expect for a couple of months...when ur back to normal weight and ur living stress free it will definitly come back..
good luck

My cousin did not menstruate for about a year after she began to recover from anorexia. She did not menstruate for several years before that due to the anorexia. Give your body time to get re-nourished and strong again and the periods will return.

Congratulations on your recovery! Best wishes to you.

It just depends on how soon you gain weight. You r body fat has to be a certain percentage. It took me several months before I started again, and a few more after that before I was regular.

Congrats on your recovery
